We are currently seeking a Safety, Health and Environmental Supervisor to join our team in Hope, BC.
This position is ideal for a candidate:
• With demonstrated results of “buy-in” and influencing employee ownership of safety, environmental and security programs
• Looking to expand their role for future operational management opportunities within the business
• Can travel on a periodic basis
• Responsible for leading the site through the implementation of the safety behavior program, employee engagement and continuous improvement. Ensure the site Safety/Environmental programs are implemented and maintained in an appropriate manner.
• Ensure SHE programs are implemented and maintained for the site with emphasis on core regulatory compliance elements assuring Primo Brands facility and operations are within applicable Primo Brands’ policies and procedures, including routine program validations of the facilities and equipment for SHE compliance.
• Ensure technical training is executed for facility personnel to maintain SHE awareness and technical expertise required for operations that comply with BlueTriton Brands and Regulatory requirements.
• Development of management driven Safe Behavior Observation, LOTO, Machine Guarding, Powered industrial vehicle programs for the site.
• Provide technical expertise and management guidance to investigate process failures that lead to workplace accidents and environmental impacts. Includes investigations, monitoring of accidents and incidents involving fire, hazardous materials, unsafe situations, security issues and/or non-compliance issues ensuring corrective action recommendations appropriately addresses procedural changes as necessary for the prevention of future incidents.
• Develops and leads the implementation of on-site safety, environment, and/or emergency management programs designed to respond to individual situations and to improve overall safety conditions in the factory.
• Maintaining local knowledge of current and emerging issues and trends in regulatory compliance.
• Developing and maintaining site-specific programs, records of inspections, and incidents relating to Safety, Health, Security and Environment.
• Leading the development of the Safety/Environmental Committees at the plant location.
• Prepare monthly reporting of BlueTriton Brands SHE Key Performance Indicators (KPI).
• Flexibility to support 24/7 operations when needed
Qualifications
• Post Secondary Education with a focus, certification, or credential in workplace safety, or 5+ years of workplace safety experience
• Experience in the consumer packaged goods (CPG), beverage, or food manufacturing industry preferred but not required
• Moderate to high level of knowledge and understanding of federal, provincial, and local fire, safety, environmental, and health regulations and procedures, as applied to food manufacturing facilities
• Ability to perform on-site safety and environmental inspections
• Assist the Factory Manager in ensuring compliance with federal, provincial (WorkSafe BC), and local occupational health & safety and other related regulations for the site.
• Strengths in People Management including communication; leadership; effective presentation skills; coaching; crisis management; motivation; team building; organization; self-starter; time management; stress management
• Ability to develop and implement standard operating procedures
• Good listening skills and ability to take initiative and exercise independence
• Ability to analyze processes and make recommendations for improvements
• Proficient in the use of personal computers and related software applications. (MS Office/MS Outlook/Web based systems)
• Experience with Velocity EHS preferred
Pay Range: $85,000-$100,000. This role is eligible for a 10% annual bonus.
